  • I know you may have higher expectations of yourself, but I think you’re rocking this! Just goes to show you can really save a ton of money if you’re willing to shop around.

Hi. I buy those basket type coffee filters too. Do you find that the bottom tier of filters flares out too much when you go to use them? I mean, sometimes they don’t want to scrunch up and sit nicely in my coffee maker. So I have started putting them (just the bottom tier, mind) in a small plastic container. Like, one that holds 8 oz of sour cream, ya dig? They keep their shape much better that way. Just a tip for ya.

Also, to know how much each tier holds, you just need to divide the total # of filters by the numbers of tiers. So a 100 filter pack with 4 tiers would be 25 filters per tier. You could write this on the outside of the plastic bag if you keep them in the plastic bag in your cupboard so you know exactly how many you have left when you’re getting low. :o )

You know Nella, I hadn’t really paid attention to the bottom of the basket, lol. The sour cream tip is great – thanks! Soomething kinda funny, I started keeping some pre-ground decaf in an old sour cream container. I have all my coffee supplies in a basket and the decaf sour cream sits on top of the coffee filters (and those are still in the bag). Maybe it’ll help with the shape later? LOL.

Having studied math, you’d think I would have figured that out, lol. Thanks again Nella!
