Who knew water could be so tasty?!
Remember that beauty from yesterday?
Here she is again.
I just love the contrast of those colors.
And what is was in that glass.
Agua fresca is to Mexico what lemonade is to America. This is a cool, refreshing drink that goes down way to easily.
Like, I blended 3/4 of a watermelon and drank the whole thing… in one sitting.
Yeah, that kinda of “way to easily.”
This was my first time making it and it is now officially my favorite summer drink. It was insanely delicious and if you don’t have watermelon in your house, you need to go to the store, RIGHT THIS VERY MOMENT, and get one so you can make this drink.
Trust me on this one.
The neat thing about this recipe is that you can use just about any fruit you want. Simply adjust the water/fruit ratio to suit your liking (especially if you choose a denser fruit).
Agua Fresca
2 cups coconut water
4 cups diced watermelon (seeds removed)
2 Tbsp lime juice
4 tsp sugarPlace all ingredients in your blender and hit go!
Variations: You can substitute plain water instead of coconut water if you’d like. Coconut water is high in potassium (which hydrate you) and antioxidants (fight the bad stuff in your body). You can use any fruit you’d like as well as any sweetener you’d like. I actually used two packets of splenda instead of sugar and it was just the right amount of sweet for me.
Tips: This best served cold, so you can add ice to the blender or serve over ice. Another option is to freeze some of your fruit ahead of time. I did this and it worked beautifully (and deliciously).
One last picture, to hold you over until your blender stops.

This certainly sounds delicious. Where do you buy coconut water? Never heard of it.
Coconut water can be found at most grocery stores – I’ve bought it at Walmart and Amazon has comparable prices. Look for it near the flavored water section (think SoBe). I use Zico brand because it’s all natural and the only ingredient is coconut water (no sugar added). It’s in a blue container. Hope that helps!!
Oh my goodness, I must try this! That sounds amazing, especially with the coconut water.
This looks so refreshing! Perfect for summer! Thanks for sharing at Church Supper! Have a blessed week and Happy 4th!

Fantastic idea. Would you link it in to my Food on Friday: Cocktails/Mocktails?
I found this through Thriving on Thursdays. I have linked in a corned beef hash cakes recipe using corned beef leftovers. I selected the right picture but the linky thing went crazy, so you will have to click through to see the picture. Have a great week.

What a gorgeous color. I’m not even a fan of watermelon but I’m tempted. Thanks for sharing this week on BeColorful.
