- Add butter or olive oil after cooking. A little bit of fat helps the rice to stay in separate grains and not stick together in one clump.
- Use the proper water-to-rice ratio. This will depend on the type of rice and how long the grain is. Too much water can give you bloated, mushy rice.
- Make rice cooker recipes in the Instant Pot! If you don’t already have a rice cooker, there’s no need to go buy another appliance. Insta pot rice recipes turn out perfectly tender and fluff up nicely with a fork each time.
- Add subtle flavor with chicken broth. If you just need a little boost in flavor add chicken broth or stock instead of water.
MACRO-FRIENDLY RICE RECIPES

Sure! I find the Instant Pot is a lot easier, because you can just load it up and leave it to cook. Rice recipes on the stovetop need a bit of babysitting to make sure they stay at a simmer and don’t cook off all of the water before the rice is cooked through.
