Without further ado, that gigantic jar of Hershey kisses is what we gave Mr. Crumbs for Father’s Day. Do you know how many bags of kisses it took to fill the jar? I won’t say, but you can earn points if you guess correctly in the comments!!
The kids had a blast filling the jar and believe it or not, no kisses were sacrificed during the filling of the jar. I can imagine this jar on Mr. Crumbs’ desk and see him reaching in and eating one or two when he’s craving something sweet. A simple reminder that we love him!
Here’s how you can make your own:
- Right-click and save the above image to your computer. The default size is 4×6.
- Open the file in paint, select all and copy it into Word. Resize the picture as needed.
- Print the picture on plain white computer paper and trim the edges.
- Using your favorite medium, glue the picture to the jar. (I used Mod Podge directly on the jar, then placed the picture on top and used a rag to wipe off the excess glue.)
- Let dry.
I put the poem on both sides, so no matter how he has it set up on his desk, Mr. Crumbs can always see it. 🙂
Papa Crumbs was a little trickier. He’s not a big fan of sweets, but when I stumbled across a “nuts about you” poem that was also a gift in a jar, I searched no longer.
Papa’s favorite nut is the cashew, so we picked up a jar from Costco (you can get them on Amazon too) and printed off two of these awesome labels to cover the manufacturer labels. Now when Papa reaches for his very own jar of nuts, he’ll think of his grand-kids!
Get your own “Nuts About You” label HERE and follow these instructions:
- Right-click and save this file to your computer. The default size is 4×4 which is just slightly bigger than the labels already on the canister.
- Open the file in paint, select all and copy it into Word. Re-size the picture as needed.
- Print the picture on plain white computer paper and trim the edges.
- Using your favorite medium, glue the picture to the jar. (I used Modge Podge directly on the jar, then placed the picture on top and used a rag to wipe off the excess glue.)
- Let dry.
Both gifts were frugal, super easy and guaranteed to please!
