Happy Memorial Day Everyone!
I hope you guys aren’t sitting at home or work, reading the blog… I’d much rather you be outside at a park or beach, browsing on your mobile device instead.
We’re taking a break from Candid Carbs this lovely holiday so I can catch you guys up with some of the fun stuff that’s been happening behind the scenes on Crumbs. All of these changes are for YOU, to make your experience here more helpful and informative, but it wouldn’t do ya’ll any good if you didn’t know about them, so here goes.
Change #1: Reasons to Subscribe to Crumbs
If you’re not currently a Crumbs subscriber, I created a page just for you! For everyone else, it’s a fun little write up on 4 reasons why you probably shouldn’t subscribe to Crumbs, and another 6 on why I hope you will anyway.
These 10 reasons are to give readers, new and old alike, insight into what Crumbs offers. The Crumbs Mission Statement and history of how Crumbs evolved can be accessed through this page.
Change #2: Resources for Frugal Foodies
There’s now a dedicated page for all the resources I’ve come across and those that are yet to come. If you’re wondering where to get excellent quality coconut oil, grass-fed beef or a starter culture for kefir – this is your one-stop shop. The page will continue to grow as I add all the “must haves” in my head and explore the amazing resources out there. I’ll do my best to keep that page updated with discount codes and free shipping notices, but your best bet is to follow of Crumbs on Facebook and Twitter because that’s where the action will certainly be.
If you forget how to get to the Resources page, there’s also an image in the sidebar to help you out.
Change #3: Facebook & Twitter
Speaking of social media, I’m finally starting to figure out how it all works and we’re working hard to grow our presence and interact with you more there. The best shopping deals, giveaways on other blogs, must-read articles and other stuff will get posted there, along with the morning’s “new post” update. There’s a TON of awesome stuff going on at any given moment, and it just isn’t feasible to turn it all into posts… so that’s where the random “this is so neat and my readers would LOVE it but there’s no way I can write it up for them right now” type of stuff will go. Along with any ramblings about yummy dinners or failed date nights.
By the way, are you seeing my updates on Facebook? To be honest with you, I’m not sure how it all works, but I’ve heard that only 1/5 of you are actually seeing what I write. Blogging With Amy has a great write up on creating an interest page so you won’t miss any of your favorite updates… including Crumbs.
Change #4: Price Lists
The Trader Joe’s price list has been updated as of last month, but a price list for Costco and Whole Foods has also been added to the menu bar. Costco’s list is still in progress (LOTS of shopping trips to go through) but Whole Foods is done. Ya’ll know that I don’t shop there too often, so please leave a comment if you find a good deal on something!
Change #5: Continuing the Journey
Finally, the Do Somethings from Truth About Fat have a home. A new tab under “New? Start Here? has been created for those who are done with the Fresh Start series and are ready to continue their journey (hence the name of the tab). The entire fat series has been loaded and what we’ve covered on carbs is in there too.
Links within each numbered “do something” will take you to the post where we talked about that topic; the red heading (i.e. TRUTH ABOUT FAT) will take you to the series homepage where you’ll find all the topics, plus related recipes and tutorials.
