What’s your favorite ice cream flavor?
Currently, I’d love to get my hands of a couple big scoops of mint chocolate chip.
In high school, it was all about cookie dough. Both as is, and in ice cream.
When I was little, like 7 or 8 years old, my favorite was orange sherbet. That was the flavor I always asked for from the local ice cream man when my grandparents took me camping.
Fortunately, I found a way to replicate the flavor in a much healthier, green smoothie.
I’m guest posting at Green Thickies today, sharing a short story about my favorite camping ice cream and how I accidentally turned it into a smoothie. Here’s a quick little snippt:
My accidental discovery began with a purpose – to only use fresh ingredients that were in season… this smoothie recipe costs less than $1 per serving – how often can you say that you’re getting more than half of your daily dose of fruits and vegetables for less than a buck?
I first made this smoothie for Mr. Crumbs. He’ll throw a complete random assortment of stuff into the blender and drink it, regardless if it tastes good or not.
Since my smoothies almost always taste better than his, I figure he makes a great guinia pig.
His thoughts on the orange dreamsicle smoothie?
“By far, one of my favorites.”
